Let's crack why is our education system is broken and is training us to be their dummies or rather a more precise terms.... Robots.
We are sent to school to be educated and be prepared for what's coming next in life. Instead of getting the abilities to manage our future lives and get a chance to think on what we will be doing in the coming future, the students spend 12 years of their life running around teachers, prefects and other school staff. I would like to talk about the Indian Education System, its flaws and possible improvements.
India's Education System
Around 20-25% of students in India face mental problems from academic pressure. The entire education system cares only about 2 things: To pass our exams and to get amazing marks in these exams. How long will anyone go in life with just instructions written in a book? Many students are afraid of maths due to the methods which we are FORCED to use in the examinations and when a student uses his technique to solve a sum, IT IS DECLARED WRONG!. In India, 12% of children of age 4-16 have psychiatric disorder (I read in a book in the library). The education system has made students mentally WEAK! and there is a very good reason why.
Students become weak due such load!
A notable factor which is even unnoticed by teachers is HOMEWORK! I am talking about the most irritating thing a student can accommodate in a busy day, HOMEWORK! I rarely get any homework but several schools give lots of homework. These expectations burden a student. Personally when I get homework, I spend my whole day on it forgetting all other things which I have to do for my MENTAL HEALTH which involves playing, talking with friends and doing things I love. When I get a project, 2 days are the minimum I spend on it and I have a big objection on performing projects! You see, projects are given to test our creativity as well as our researching skills. Yet according to me, the topics for the projects are NOT HELPFUL IN REAL LIFE! How will an activity on Soil Profile help us? It is not that some random person will walk up to me and say that show your soil profile activity right now! Instead, we should make projects on how to increase yield of fielding. And there is the main gap our education system has missed and is causing immense burden on students...... Examinations.
The biggest tormentor, EXAMS!
In one academic year, a student has to give 6 exams in ICSE board . I, myself, give 6 examination in a year and I will say that the timetable according to which the exams are set is really hectic. We practice, recite only the theory and WE are expected to apply in real life. And, I agree and STRONGLY BELIEVE that there should be exams , ONLY to test what we have learnt. I feel that in this gap of 6-exam-schedule is we should at least have one practical exam for every subject so that we know and appreciate that the knowledge we are obtaining is USEFUL and NOT JUST THEORY!
Conclusion
So I think that the education system need to add or improve the following things:
- Number of Exams
- Decreasing work load
- Removing 2 or 3 exams and instead of theory, they should take practical exams
That leads us to the conclusion of this blog which is the "Problems Of Our Education System!", the education system is broken!
I do not intend on giving hate to any student, teacher, school or school organisation
I do not intend to give hate to the Government of India for their efforts on the education in India.
I do not intend on giving hate to any individual who works in the education system's department.
I love my country and do no intend on giving hate to the laws and rules set by the Government of India or the education system / department. Instead a big Thank you for imparting good education to the students!
